What a Birth Doula Can do for you
A doula can be so beneficial for you through pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum. A doula can give unending support through your hardest pregnancy struggles, provide the most recent research on topics you’re interested in learning about, show your partner how to give hands on support through your labor, or even lend a caring hand as you’re navigating through the postpartum period. Doulas wear many different hats and the list of benefits and support a doula can provide is endless.

How it Works
-
Physical Care
During pregnancy and birth your body goes through many changes. Let me support your body and educate you on these changes.
-
Emotional Support
Hormones can cause large amounts of energy to surge through your body causing emotions that can be hard to understand. I will hold space and offer unconditional support.

Resources
Over my time being a doula I have accumulated a wealth of resources to support you on your journey. I will offer you these as needed. You will never be left alone in the dark.

What’s Included?
PRENATAL
♥ During your prenatal visits we will create a personalized birth plan for you, we will chat about how you imagine your dream birthing experience, I will answer all of your questions, I will show you and your birthing partner different comfort measures and different laboring positions, I will also teach you how to advocate for yourself. You will have full access to my lending library and we will communicate through phone throughout your entire pregnancy. Ask me any question that pops into your mind, update me with milestones, or even ask for the latest study on different topics!
DURING BIRTH
♥ When you start feeling the first signs of labor, call me! No matter the time or day, I am on call 24/7 for you starting at 37 weeks. Once you’re ready for in person support from me I will meet you wherever you are. Hospital, home, birth center it doesn’t matter, I support any and all births! During your birth I will support you and your birthing partner physically, mentally, and emotionally. One of my jobs is to make sure that you are confident in your birthing ability and that your voice feels heard. Advocacy is a big part of my job, I will never speak for you but I will make sure you’re heard. I also offer hands on support whenever you may need it. I will stay up to 2 hours after your birth to help you initiate breastfeeding if that’s the route you choose to take or even to just help you process your birth.
POSTPARTUM
♥ Postpartum visits are just as important as prenatal visits. In these visits I will come to your home with a meal in hand. My goal with these visits is not to hold your baby while you get necessary house work done. My goal is for you to be snuggling your baby in bed while I do house work, cooking, organizing, or even watching over your older kiddos. I’m there to ease your mind so all you have to worry about is you and your precious newborn. I can also help you with feeding, teach you how to baby wear, debrief your birth story with you, and answer any questions.
